A lot of us do face hard disk crash before. Then start panicking on how to get back the data out. If you face the symptoms below, it is confirmed hardware or mechanical failure which require hardware based recovery in a dust free environment.
Hardware or Mechanical Failure Symptoms :
Knocking sound of the hard disk head. The sound of the hard disk trying to spin up and ended with a click due to the head can’t fly in to the media.
No Power. The hard disk drive eventhough plugged in, there are no response at all. Possibility one of the components on the circuit board has failed or burned.
Not able to detect by the computer. This happen when either the 2 symptoms above happen.
Fall down or accidentally dropped
